Just Do It

Time is the most precious asset we possess.

It cannot be replenished.

How much money would someone like Bill Gates give to be 25 again?

1 billion?

20 billion?

50 billion?

Time does not respect your social status.

Time does not value your bank account.

Time is ruthless – it is always moving forward and never looking back.

You have to respect time.

You better fear it.

You need to control it.

The time is now.

It’s easy to make excuses to avoid change. “I’m too busy” takes no effort to say, and gets people to back off with their demands. Sometimes, you may be justified by saying this. Most of the time, you are not.

How do you start on the path towards fulfillment?

You start by making a plan.

For years, this was my problem.

I lived in the moment and always said:

‘I’ll get to that tomorrow.”

“I’m exhausted.”

‘I’ll start next year, I’m too busy.”

What did I end up doing instead?

Nothing.

Time went on, and not a thing was accomplished.

I was at peace with inaction. I loved my comfort zone.

Just Do It - Avoid Inaction

It hit me hard one day, when I realized; at the end of my days, I want to reflect on my life and have no regrets.

I don’t want to be like most people and ask myself “what if?”

I am a perfectionist by nature, and have a resounding fear of failure.

When the world as I knew it drastically changed, I ultimately decided I had enough.

I smashed through the walls of inaction.

I gave up making excuses and instead made changes.

I did some soul-searching and created a detailed plan of action.

Take Charge of YOUR Life

Do not surround yourself with people who belittle your ambitions, take you down, or make you follow their life plan.

You are better than that.

You define your own life. Nobody will lead you to happiness.

People are too busy with their own ambitions and struggles to nurture your ambitions. Our struggle against time is ours alone – a one on one battle to the death. Nobody can be expected to help.

We must take what we want in life – with no shame and no guilt

Be ruthless in pursuing your dreams.

Do not make excuses and do not settle.

Time will not wait for you, and the world will not seek you out.

We never know how long we will have on this Earth.

Don’t be a passenger in life – jump in the driver’s seat and go full throttle towards what you want.

Your excuses are stale. They aren’t good enough either.

Lack of money.

Lack of time.

Lack of will.

Time does not respect or care about excuses.

Just Do It - Avoid Inaction
Time is indifferent to the challenges, obstacles, and difficulties we run into. Everything can be achieved – you just have to shake up your world, and JUST DO IT.

Make a Plan

Set the following goals:

  • 1-2 weekly
  • 3-5 monthly
  • 5-7 yearly

Be ambitious in your goal setting – aggressive but realistic.

Think of your strongest thoughts and daydreams.

What are you thinking about the most?

How many times have you said “maybe someday I’ll do that?”

Envision what you are passionate about.

Is it a major part of your life yet? Why not?

Write these goals down and look at them every day.

Internalize them.

Be selfish and work towards these goals.

Disregard the opinions of others and don’t let obstacles stop your pursuit.

When you hit your deadlines, reflect on the result.

Did you hit your goals? If you did, be proud and reward yourself. If you didn’t – why not?  Don’t be discouraged and most importantly, stay committed.

NEVER be afraid to fail.

Simply writing down some of the things you hope to do will go a long way in motivating and encouraging you actually try.

Hard work involves setting detailed (achievable) goals, and smashing them out of the park.

Stop thinking.

Just do it.
